Then Uday Chopra opted out and was replaced by Shreyas Talpade.
Now the latest casting glitch in Hook Ya Crook is Aditya Pancholi. On Friday afternoon Aditya sat down with David Dhawan to hear the script and decided he didn't like the sound of his character.
Says David, "It was a mutual decision. Aditya and I sat together. And when we saw what his role finally shaped into I suggested that he opt out."
A hunt is on for a last-minute replacement.
Says David, "But I'm not worried. I'm very happy with whatever we've shot so far. John Abraham has proved he's a pro at cricket. We've shot two cricket scenes with him. And they's turned out brilliantly. Hook Ya Crook has a huge ensemble cast. I'm not surprised at the changes in the cast. Good that they're happening now than later."
Incidentally Aditya seems to have become the master of opt-outs. In the last one year he has opted out Sanjay Gupta's Acid Factory, Boney Kapoor's Wanted, Murugadoss's Ghajini (where Aditya was offered the title role) and now Hook Ya Crook.
While refusing to comment on what transpired with David Dhawan, Aditya says, "If I'm not convinced about my role then there's no fun in working on a project."
